I bought my house about six months ago and it came with a 1997 Hot Springs Prodigy hot tub. I just drained and refilled the hot tub for spring and the heat pump pushes water out of the hose into the filter for about 5 minutes then stops (no heat either). It was working fine before I drained it. I think I have air trapped in the heater and small water heater pump (not main water pump). I read that I need to loosen the union on the small water heater pump, but I don't know where the union is. Do I just get some pliers and loosen the clamp to the hose leading to the small water heater pump? I think thsi is the problem because this happened when I first bought the home and the previous owner drained and refilled the hot tub. I have since learned that I need to fill the tub through the filter compartment and also flip the 30 amp breaker and let it run before flipping the 20 amp one. Leason learned, but any help with getting my problem fixed would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to have to wait 2 weeks for a service call.

Of the three filters, try removing the filter on the grey standpipe.

Yes, you can push the clamps up the hose, and carefully remove the DISCHARGE hose from the pump to purge an air bubble.

If the filters weren't CHEMICALLY cleaned, they need it.

The 20amp breaker runs the circ. pump and controls. The 30 is just for the heater. Turn the 20 on and off a few times, may purge the bubble for you. Once flow is established, them turn on the 30 amp.

Thanks for the fast reply. I was told to turn the 30 amp on first and then the 20 amp after about 5 minutes. Do you not agree with this? Or are you saying to flip the 20 amp on and off because I might have air already trapped in in the heater and heater water pump?
Also, The filters are all new so I shouldn't need to clean them correct?
