| Hot Springs Sovereign Problem (Power Indicator Blinking) |
I have a Sovereign spa that I purchased new in the Summer of 2005, and have a problem situation I'm trying to deal with...
Dogs at the house chewed up the cover, and long story short the spa sat unused for several months, andwhen it rained leaves and dirt made their way into the spa through holes in the cover.
I have purchased a new cover from the dealer, and removed with a hand screen as much of the leaves, etc as I can. Emptied the spa and refilled it, and was planning to run it with the old ( 3 cylindrical ) paper filters in place before another empty/refill before putting in a new set of filters along with the cover replacement.
Problem is I have the 230v model, with the 20 and 30 amp breaker box, and when I flip on the 20 amp breaker the power indicator continuously blinks red. The circulation pump seems to be working fine - I get a very healthy stream of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the tub - but I can't start the jets to run the water through the filters. I've power cycled at the breaker box several times, and have also pulled the three filters out and sprayed them with a hose to clean them as much as possible, still no go.
A customer service rep at Watkins suggested I may have a bad hi limit thermostat. Can anyone think of anything else I might try to get things running again? I've temporarily covered the old chewed up cover with sheet plastic so if it rains nothing will get back into the tub, and would like to clean it up as much as possible and get any remaining sediment out of the water prior to installing the new filters and cover.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

the Watkins rep gave you correct advice... a flashing red power light indicates the electronic heater high limit thermistor is out of range.
However, the chances of the thermistor being bad are quite remote. Probably a harness or cntrl box/ cntrl head problem. What are you waiting for? just call the dealer- you're under warranty! " title="Very Happy" /> |
