| IQ2000 Heater Jumpers |
Grandee 98 model. IQ2000.
I have reconnected a spa I had moved, and I was not the person who did the disconnect.
I wired it up and all works except the heater. Attached is a pic of the block. The Jumpers from relay to relay I think are wrong, and I want to confirm the supply to the relays. Red heater light is on.
Attached is a pic of the current connections.
It looks like I need to swap around the jumpers from relay to relay on the right one so they are Blk-Wht-Blk-Wht on the top?
Second question, do I simply need to supply 120v to both sides of the relay on the right using the jumpers, or is one of these neutral?SANY0648.JPG |

Re: IQ2000 Heater Jumpers
There are a few things wrong there. The jumpers above are wrong, but there should not have been a reason to move those on a disconnect/reconnect anyway. That tells me that the tub was re-wired, it didn't heat, so someone started moving wires around to try to make it heat. (they should be blk/wht blk/wht on the relays from left to right as you said)
I'm not an electrician, so there may be other ways to wire a Grandee to make it work, but the way it is wired now is not how it should be.
You should have 5 wires plus the ground, using a 30 amp and a 20 amp breaker to power the tub. From the looks of things you may have just a 50 amp breaker and 3 wires plus the ground. If you look on the IQ2000 cover panel, it will show the proper wiring schematic for the electrical hookup. I will not recommend doing anything different from that. |

Re: IQ2000 Heater Jumpers
Alright Dan... I got it now. I was thinking I needed some type of a jumper on the block. I need to make sure the subpanel has a 30 and a 20 with the 30 supplying what appears to be the heater. And thanks for confirming the relay to relay jumpers. That I can handle. Thanks |
