It doesn't work.

I purchased this from a trustworthy guy, and he tells me that it hasn't been filled in about 18months. So I bought it, filled and....

The pump sounds like it is supposed to, But nothing happens. There is a buzzing sound when you turn the jets on. Thats it, thats all that happens- there is NO movement of anything inside the tub.

I didn't take any precautions against air-lock - after all I am a total newbie.

I was told to drain it, then refill it through the filter housing - but I can't get the filter off. It would take more the brute strenght that I or any of my friends had.
)my filter system is top mount, has a plastic cover which you just pull off, then a black ring you unscrew, then another cover which is in there by pressure, which you pry off...then you can get the filter out. on top of the cap has a black little knob which i guess is some sort of air release...tried unscrewing it which pump was running, some air came out,but very little)


Any help you guys can provide is greatly appreciated.

if its just 'buzzing' you may have a pump problem - ie not turning due to likely start capacitor failure
