| Overheating... |
I made the mistake of reinstalling the control panel in my 1994 Hotsprings Sovereign Model 1 with the power still on to the box. The copper wire accidentally touched a relay let the smoke out. It tripped the breaker so I hoped everything was fine. I hooked everything back up and plugged'er in. Everything seemed ok until I came home from work the next day to find the water temp at 150 degrees (tested with meter)!! The hi-limit tripped and turned the tub off. I figured it was a faulty thermostat but the wire I burned isn't the one that goes to the heater...it's the one that goes through the wooden frame under the tub. There are three copper wires total on the control panel. 1 goes to the heater and the other two go under the tub. Anyone know which ones these are?
Jeff
Picture shows the box (center of picture) that the copper wire came from and the other is where the wire's go. |

That's not a wire, it's a capillary tube, and part of the thermostat. Replace it. |

I moved this post over to heating forum. I thought it was more appropriate there. Thanks for the reply. Where does it go under the tub? Do I need to start draining it to replace? Where would be a good place for replacement parts? Sorry for all the questions. |
