| Runs for a few seconds, then restarts |
Hard to describe....
Sundance Portofino Metro, year 2004. Got this from our inlaws this spring, just now hooking it up. Switched it over to run on 220 as it's outside, all wiring ran, filled the tub, and started it up. Digital readout shows 354 (firmware), 888 (LED test), and then the temp, in this case 57. Since it was just filled didn't think that was out of the ordinary for a temp.....in retrospec, I think the water was colder than that. Anyway, after 57 is on the display the circ pump kicks in and runs for 5 seconds or so.....at which point I hear a click and the whole tub shuts off and "reboots", going through the startup sequence again. Found a service manual for this and have went through and tested voltage at all the test points....all looks good. Heater is measuring around 15 ohms, no fuses blown. Have tried unplugging the heater and the circ pump.....still have the same results with the click and the system rebooting. The relay that is clicking is marked at K7 according to the diagram in the service manual...with the words Heater In marked on it. During the few seconds when it's on I can turn on the light just fine, and can start the main jets in either low or high and everything works until it shuts down.
A couple of times when starting it up I've also gotten some weird flickering on the display.....also have seen the display say "Olo" as well as "OS1". Can't figure out if those are legit codes or not as I haven't been able to google anything or find anything in the service manual to that effect thus far. No other codes coming up......getting what appears to be good flow from the circ pump when it's running.
Anyone have any ideas?? How about a circuit diagram for the board in this tub?? Any questions, please ask away! If there is a more appropriate category for this question feel free to move.
Thanks! |

Re: Runs for a few seconds, then restarts
I have the same problem with a similar year Portofino. When I disconnect the flow switch the constant resetting stops, but the heat still doesn't work. The circulation pump is functioning fine, and I've tried with and w/o the filters installed. One thing I noticed upon pulling the flow switch is that the resistance of the switch is really low when I pulled it from the tub and manually operated it, which makes me think the switch is not the problem. Have you had any success.
