error code "fl" and "oh"

On a Jacuzzi Echo z135 spa, it was closed for the winter and opened last week. After filling it ran for about 5 hours and flashed "fl" on the digital topside control panel, I turned the high speed jets on and the error went away, it heated to normal temperature and was find for a day. It then shut down flashing "oh" and displaying a temperature of 82 on the topside control panel. The pump was not hot. I powered the tub off at the GFI, waited a min and powered it back on. The display then flashed "fl", no operation (no pump) when it's powered on at the GFI I hear a click which seems to come from the circuit board. I tried removing the filter and restarting and get the same "fl" also tried reseating all the wires.

Any ideas on what to check ?

thank you

Re: error code "fl" and "oh"

Check the flow switch or the circ pump. I suspect on a Jacuzzi that error"Fl" = flow error. With no flow indicated the heater will not come on. Either could have intermittent operation with pending failure.

Re: error code "fl" and "oh"

Thank you, I will try replacing the flow switch. Does anybody happen to know if there is an easy way to check the pump to make sure it is operating, thermostat as well ?

The thermostat appears to be set into the filter basked and seems like a chore to remove and replace.

thanks

Re: error code "fl" and "oh"

If the circ pump is working you should be able to feel the water coming out of some place in the tub -- it should be working all the time. On my tub there is a hole in the middle of the tub that water comes out all the time and warm water comes out of when its heating. You can also feel the circ pump to see if its getting hot hot=dead. Or simply pull it out and check it out on a workbench but don't run it for more than a few seconds without water. To check the flow switch you should be able to remove it and move the piston back and forth to open and close the contacts and check it with an ohm meter. On my tub when the flow switch fails I remove it for replacement and jumper the pins on the board to simulate a closed switch until I get a new one.

Re: error code "fl" and "oh"

Thanks for the advice, currently nothing is coming from any jets, The pump is not on at all.
When I power on the jacuzzi at the GFI I hear a click at the circuit board and the topside pannel flashes "fl", occasionally it flashes "oh" but usually it's "fl". I've been told this can be a bad pressure switch, bad pump, bad circuit board or (for the "oh" a bad thermostat.
