| BRETT MANIFOLD CRACKED |
I have a problem with my old hot tub. The plastic housing (manifold) around the heater is cracked at the point where the heater plate attaches with four large bolts and squeezes a large O ring to form a water tight seal. This plastic heater housing has a label on it that says Brett Aqualine Inc, Model HT-115.
I was able to disconnect and remove the manifold and all connected piping by way of two unscrewable PVC connections. So I have the whole assembly out of the tub.
Am I correct in assuming that trying to repair the cracks by gluing the housing is out of the question?
If so, how do I go about replacing the heater housing itself? It is connected to PVC piping on both the back and the side and I’m trying to figure out how to get at it. Any tips on how to go about replacing this housing? While I am handy, I’ve never worked with PVC before. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help. |
