| Brand new 2008 Prodigy spa heater not working :( |
Hello all,
I just recently purchased a brand new 2008 Hot Spring Prodigy hot tub, everything went well in regards to electrical hookup, the jets and lights work just fine, however, the water temp has only risen by a mere 4 degrees in the last 24 hours according to the readout on the tub controls. Is this normal?...I wouldnt think so...so I ran the jets for about 15 minutes yesterday and it climbed two degrees in that time period, but after shutting the jets down and letting it sit all night and checking it this morning, no change, its stuck at 70 degrees....any ideas??
Thanks |

Re: Brand new 2008 Prodigy spa heater not working :(
Are there any lights flashing like the power light or ready light?
If it is 220V are both breakers on?
When they don't heat from the start 90% of the time they are wired wrong or jumpers were not moved properly in the conversion from 110v. Since you already had questions and some confusion about the wiring I would double check that first. |

Hi Dan,
Nope, no lights flashing at all, both breakers are on...as for the wiring, I have enclosed a screen shot of the wiring and the way I did it....tub wiring.JPG |

Re: Brand new 2008 Prodigy spa heater not working :(

Re: Brand new 2008 Prodigy spa heater not working :(
If there was an air lock then one of the lights would be flashing. I've seen the wiring diagrams a thousands times, I was hoping to see a pic of the actual wires and breakers. I've seen a lot of breakers installed improperly in the panel lately.
Other than that you would have to use a meter to see what is going on with voltage and continuity with the heater. |

Re: Brand new 2008 Prodigy spa heater not working :(
Ahh....ok Dan,....after reading what you said about mis-installation of the breakers, I remember moving the sub-panel breakers into a different slot, could that be it??....enclosed is a picture of where they were and where I moved them to...subpanel.JPG |

Re: Brand new 2008 Prodigy spa heater not working :(
Dan,
I have looked at this picture over and over again, personally, I think improper breaker installation IS my problem, it looks like the pair of breakers (60A) is only getting 120v as I have moved that pair to the far left of the sub-panel.....sheesh...I never noticed that...please confirm when you can....
thank you for your help " title="Smile" /> |

Re: Brand new 2008 Prodigy spa heater not working :(
Yep, they need to be moved over one space like they are in the photo. |
