| Gecko Temperature Oscilate up to 3 degrees higher setting |
I have a Gecko SC_MP-P122-P212_B2-01-AU11 controller with two pumps, one being dual speed, the other single speed and a blower
When I set the tub for 99 deg f the temperature creeps up to 102 and then back down to 99. I turned the filter cycle to 0 and the temperature regulation was perfect. The temp seems to increase above setpoint when the motors are running. Can I assume that during filtration pump one is running on low speed?
I talked to Gecko and if I received the straight bill of goods they are telling me that the heater should only go on when the unit is calling for heat.
One suggesting was that the water is heating from Kinectic energy from the pump(s) There is also the HC LC mode setting, which if my unit is in HC, then I would still like to think that the Heater only comes on when it called for heat.
My tub has an access door where the motors are, however to open the Gecko spa pack I need to remove the entire side of the tub. Not sure what the designer whas thinking when he/she designed this one? Otherwise I would put a meter on the heater and see what is going on with the pumps on.
In advance thanks for any suggestions |

Re: Gecko Temperature Oscilate up to 3 degrees higher setting
Depending on how well insulated the tub is you can certainly get an increase from just from the heat of the motors. This usually happens during warm months, though. What's the temp where you are?
Unless you have a dedicated circ pump, low speed is what operates filtration and heat. |

Re: Gecko Temperature Oscilate up to 3 degrees higher setting
The temperature is approx 40to 50 degrees.
I would love to put a meter across the heater element, but I have to take the side of the tub off to open the gecko control box. Since the side is just fastened with wood screws, I don't want to make a habit of this |

Re: Gecko Temperature Oscilate up to 3 degrees higher setting
If your meter has a clamp style amp meter on it, you can always go back to the subpanel and check the amperage there. If the heater is on with the pump on low you'll be drawing somewhere north of 20 amps. |
