| Hot Springs Jetsetter 1995 heater trips GFI |
1995 Hot Springs Jetsetter #J-251602
Replaced the circulation pump last year, and it is working fine
I noticed a week ago the red light was off on the front, so I checked and the GFI was tripped, I reset it and it tripped again, so I turned the heater off and reset and it was fine. So I drain the water (it was time to anyway), cleaned whole run, and filters. I refilled, and reset GFI and no filters installed, I thought it was worth a try. Same problem. As soon as you turn the heater on and it clicks, you hear a second one, and it trips the GFI? This unit has the block Watkins 1500 No-Fault Cartridge heater.
Any thoughts, could it be the flow switch?
If you are famailar with this unit, what are the two devices that screw into the Watkins 1500 housing? Could it be those, or is it the heater all together?
Thanks for any help! |

It's most likely your heater. The two things that thread into it are thermistors, and they would not cause it to trip the GFCI.
If you have a meter you could check to see if the heater is leaking current to ground...or unplug the heater and see if it runs fine without the heater plugged in. |
