| Hot Springs - No Heat? No Flow? No idea.... |
I'm a newbie, so please be gentle. I have an old Hot Springs 110V spa (1989 or so) and here's what's up: I just replaced the heater element to no avail. I'm getting no heat at all and the recirc pump is not working either (I don't beleive either is getting power from the pack). The main pump works, the lights work, the filter is clean and the heater reset switch hasn't popped up at all. I recollect hearing a ticking sound in the motor compartement (timer?) when the tub was functioning but now i hear nothing. I hear a click when I turn the heat dial up - that's it (bad relay?). I dunno what to do next - somebody please help me! My brother is an electrician so I'm sure I can get some help in that way if I know what to tell him to look for (continuity here, there, wherever)... |

That ticking sound would have been the timer. You can manually rotate this timer to see if that is the problem. Just rotate it until it makes a louder click (it will click as you rotate it, but quietly) and if everything works, then replace the timer. some timers even have a button or a knob on them to do a manual "bypass" and you can try that as well. |
