I've checked the breaker, reset it, and there is no heat to any part of the heater or water. Worked fine last year. From the searching that I have done, seems like a heater element. Any thoughts on what to replace and where the element is?

The heater is the square silver flange with the circular black plastic piece that it looks like you are pointing to. You can clamp off the lines with vise-grips, then take the 4 screws/nuts off. Then the element slides out.

When you take the thin copper heater/high limit probes out of the back of the element, you can bend them slightly but don't put a crimp in those at all.

Great, thanks. That's what I thought. Is there anyway to test the element with an ohm meter or something? The new element is $120, I'd rather be sure if possible.

Yes, you can test the two round plug ends for continuity. Should get 9.8-14 or something like that...can't remember exactly. If it reads Open Line (O.L.) or the number jumps around then the heater is bad.
