| No Fault heater modification?? |
I read in another part of this forum that the Watkins No Fault 6000 heater requires a modification where the heater tubes meet the plastic housing.
Can someone tell me if this applies to mine..serial # 1719706 Watkins Part # 0927501.... 220v (looks like this model has been discontinued)
This heater once leaked where the heater tube enters the plastic at the inlet side. The plastic sleve that slides over the heater tube to hold it into the housing was cracked. I patched the leak with some silicone caulk and it no longer leaks but I am worried that I should make this modification..
If this applies to me, can anyone tell me where to get the parts?? |

Your serial number has one too many numbers. Just call Watkins, the "kit" is free. 1-800-999-4688.
But the heater you're describing sound like a cartridge style heater, not the one that needs the sleeves. If the element is removable from the heater-body, there's no kit needed. Maybe you can post a pic?
Any chance the serial number is: L-171906 or L-171706, And not L-1719706?
Pretty sure the 97 had the heater that needed the sleeves... |

Thanks for your help. Here are some photos...I have the heater out while I am waiting for a replacement circ pump. I broke my silicone fix to the inlet tube/ heater tube while removing the heater...If all is OK I will reapply the silicone when I get it all back together. Can I get new gaskets and that plastic sleave that cracked to fix this correctly?? |

That's the tri-loop. On the "+" side, no kit needed.
On the "-" side, no parts available, except for thermistor O-rings and thermistors. |
