| Smart Touch Heater Problem |
I have a smart touch 2000 controller and the temp display fluxuates about 4 or 5 degrees. When this happens the heater and the contactor constantly kick on and off. If I have the water temp at, say 100 degrees and set it to 104 degrees the heat will stay on and heat normally until the temp gets to 104 and then the temp display will start fluxuating and the heater willl begin turning on and off. It works the same way in reverse. If the water temp is at 104 and I set it to, say 90 the heater will stay off till the temp reaches 90 and then start fluxuating and turning on and off again.
Is a temp sensor going out and thats why I get the fluxuation in the temp display?
Thanks, |

Re: Smart Touch Heater Problem
It could be the temp sensor or the circuit board itself. Unfortunately the only way to tell will be by testing with a new temp sensor. |

Re: Smart Touch Heater Problem
Thanks, that helps. I think the temp sensor and the high limit sensor on that model are the same so I guess I can switch the temp sensor with the high limit sensor and see if the fluxuations stop. |
