| Troubleshooting heat problem with 02 Hot Springs Sovereign |
OK, I'm not an electician, so bear with me. I replaced the No Fault Titanium 6w (110 wired) with a 4w NF replacement. I have read that these are interchangeable, but the new one doesn't have a pressure switch port, so the connection from the board is dangling.
The circ pump is running, and the jets blow, but after a few minutes both lights start blinking. I understand there is a pressure switch jumper I may need???, does that simply can I simply close the circuit with a wire or is there something special about it? Is that why I'm blinking?
Also not sure if heater was the problem, I get continuity ~8.2 from both heaters, and concerned that the board is not providing the power. I tried to get voltage reading from the board at the white/black connectors, should have read 110 right? Nothing. Also, the led for heat on the board is not lighting. How can I check that before sinking anymore troubleshooting money into parts? Is the board all one item or is there a sub board for the heating and power?
Thanks! Trouble in Hot Lanta. |

Re: Troubleshooting heat problem with 02 Hot Springs Sovereign
Leave the end of the pressue switch wire connected to the board like it was, take the end that you cut off from the old heater and tie the wires together with a wire nut creating your own "jumper". |

Re: Troubleshooting heat problem with 02 Hot Springs Sovereign
Thanks, That was easy and stopped the blinking lights. But still no heat. I checked the voltage on the heater relay panel going to the heater, nothing. I haven't taken the panel off yet, but is it safe to assume the heater relay control panel is bad? Would I need to replace the whole IQ2000 or just the heat relay? big cost difference. Would the thermistor/thermostat be a possible problem to fix first? They both show ~9 ohms. Thanks |

Re: Troubleshooting heat problem with 02 Hot Springs Sovereign
Is the "heater on" light on in the control box? If so I would say the relay board is bad. |

Re: Troubleshooting heat problem with 02 Hot Springs Sovereign
Yes, the red led is on, so is the green on the control board. I went ahead an pulled the heat relay board, back is burned. I have a replacement ordered, hope that will fix it. Any tips? Thanks Dan |
