WATKINS NO FAULT HEATER 6000 TRIPS BREAKER
Whenever the thermostat tells the heater to come on, it trips the breaker. It's a hot springs grandee model g hottub. I removed the heater and don't want to buy another one unless I know this one is bad. What resistance should it show across the two main leads? What else should I check? thanks for helping...

Re: WATKINS NO FAULT HEATER 6000 TRIPS BREAKER
If it doesn't trip the 30 amp breaker with the heater unhooked and it trips when you hook it up then it is almost always a bad heater. Checking resistance won't tell you if the heater is shorting current to ground which trips a GFI.
