What do I need to buy? And where??

Here's my electric heater that I have now. A friend of mine gave me the hot tub, and we know that the heater is bad (he paid to have it tested by a local shop that said the heaters were both dead). The heater with the sensors on it is the one that was used last and is now defective, another is one that he had that was also tested and also appeared to be defective. Can I get away with just buying the element, or do I need the new heater assembly.

I've done some looking online and it appears you can buy the element seperate and put it in your heater housing. Any suggestions/advice, etc.?

Also, where will the best place to get these parts from?

Thank you in advance, for my newb question.

The hot tub is a Jacuzzi line echo series if that helps. The two heaters also have different part numbers, and one is a 1.5" and one is a 2.5", but both heater "tubes" are exactly the same. What do I need here?

Yes, you can replace JUST the element. You have to be absolutely certain that you get a 4KW heater element since the relays on the circuit board on that model won't handle anything larger. I just sold my Echo Jacuzzi and just replaced the element so I know exactly what you are dealing with. If you use Ebay, there is a guy in California that is selling the elements for a song, I think it was like 27 or so bucks, 35 with shipping. He is very good at his service and the product is excellent. Comes with everything you need. I will supply you with a link to a current product he has on auction. I'm sure he will appreciate my referral. You must specify the 4Kw heater. http://cgi.ebay.com/SPA-HEATER-ELEMENT-... 4417330591 Jeremy
