| element burning up |
Hi yall, New Here. I Bought a Discovery spa from my boss. As long as i have know him he has had to leave the spa on standby mode, and turn it on standard mode an hour or two before he used it. The reason was that it would go into overheat mode when left on standard, even when set at low temps. After i Got it my theory was that the over heat sensor was bad, so i took it off the backside of the heater and just laid it on the ground. Spa worked great for about 4 days, then burnt up the element. Replaced the element, and burnt up a few days later. water flow is good, heater (when not burnt) works good comes up to temp and holds good(but only for few days then burns up). I can get model/serial and post pics later on, i am at work now. Any help would be great. I know i need to put the overheat sensor back on, but i cant live with leaving it in standby mode, as i dont always know 2 hours prior that i will be using the spa.
Thanks in advance, Jon |

not.
Post a photo of this system if you can.
More likely, the issue is confused between water flow rate and overheating point. It sounds as if your circ pump (or main 2 speed pump that provides circulation for heating) is not doing what it should. |
