Need info

1. What brand is the spa. 2. What model if known. 3. Does this thing use a small circulation pump for heating the water? 4. Have you felt the heating cannister to see if it was overheated (like really hot) when the thing tripped offline? 5. What reset thing is actually tripping off? Is it a high limit switch? A circuit breaker? A gfci? If we have a little more info, then we can move forward. <img src=" title="Mr. Green" />

gerico/ramco heater problems

HELP!,

I recently obtained an old (83) ramco/gerico hot tub and have refurbished it. Lots of time invested framing, wiring, plumbing. Unfortunatly, the wiring to the original control panel was destroyed, and i have replaced it. Now, i know that gerico/ramco made the things in their garage and there are probobly no schematics out there but this is sent in the hope that you may have one or someone/something out there to help me out.

The machine pumps fine (lo and hi), the hi-limit switch and the pressure switch work as advertised (after a rebuild of each), hi-pump works via its switch, and so does the light. the wiring to/from the relays (inside the box) are all in order. The thermostat seems to work (it clicks, and does recognize temp differences), the heater gets 120 v when requested from the control box (no heat, however), but i am not able to figure out the reason/operation of the green wire from the circuit card to the
contol panel. The unit does not heat but the coil looks good and reads at 10 ohms. I think mebe the green wire makes a secondary contact in the l/h spd pump relays for the heater coil, when the heater is off i see 120v at each terminal, when the ls pump is on, i see it on only 1 side.

I have a 6 pin connector on the circuit card (from left to right top to bottom it reads;
1-red gnd 0v, 2-unused0v, 3-whi light 3v, 4-green 3v dunno, 5 black hs pump3v, 6-blu 3v ls pump/ heater?

I hope that this makes sense to you, if not, I can and will refine it. The heater did work about a year ago, but the wiring to the topside control panel got tore up somehow before i purchased it.

Appreciate your time and effort.

thanks,
dave
