HI,

We purchased a home that had a hot tub (older modle) and we have never operated one before.

We filled it up, put all the chemical in and turned the thermostat on. The red indicator light was on and we turned the handle all the way up. We were told because of our motor it would take apprx 48h to heat up. So we left it overnight and when we checked it the indicator light had gone off (12 hours later). Everything is still running though.

Any suggestions??

What problem are you experiancing?

FYI the motor has no bearing on how long it takes for your spa to heat, unless it is a softtub that has no heater.

sorry, I guess I meant small thermostat/heater? All I know is that he said something was small and it would take 48h to heat up.

My problem was that our water doesn't seem to be heating, we turned the thermostat on and the indicator light was on as well, but after 12h we noticed the light was off and the thermostat was crakned up to the highest it would go. I am assuming that that means the heater is off and not working?

Any suggestions??

what is the temperature of the water

The water is at 78'F

If the water is warmer than the outside air temperature, I would assume your heater is working, but your thermostat is defective.
