Anyone Have Spa Step Plans?

I'm looking to build a set of steps for our spa. I could probably do it without plans, but it would be much appreciated if anyone has some plans they are willing to share.

Re: Anyone Have Spa Step Plans?

This is really a simple thing to do, either a box built out of deck boards and treated 2x4's... or come up with your own. Most of the time, a spa step needs to be nothing more than a short one level platform to make entering/exiting the hot tub a little easier.

Re: Anyone Have Spa Step Plans?

Here is a VERY simple set of steps. I'll be building them early next week. Will post a couple of photos when complete and stained.

The concept is just to use a couple of 2 x 8s (stacked) on each side and the middle, connected by screwing a couple of PT 2 x 4 pieces. I'm putting 2 x 4s on each side of the middle section and insetting these vertical pieces just enough for screwing the diagonal 2 x 4s across the back for strength.

Note: The left diagonal piece shown in the BACK view is shown before cutting the appropriate angle (shown on the right diagonal).

These simple steps require the following materials:
1 ea. 2" x 8" x 10' PT sun wood (sides and middle step frame pieces, stacked and braced).
3 ea. 2" x 4' x 8' Cedar (treads and facing).
2 ea. 2" x 6" x 8' Cedar (treads).
2 ea. 2" x 4" x 8' PT (bracing and connecting the stacked 2 x 8s).

Just noticed your post is a little old....... oh well. Hope this helps.

***EDIT**** I just added some shots of the completed SIMPLE steps. Total cost of materials = $85.00 ***EDIT****
