| ColorGlo L.E.D. |
Can somebody tell me if the ColorGlo L.E.D. bulb will work with a "stepdown" dimmer switch (1st push turns light on, 2nd dims to medium, 3rd to low and 4th to OFF)? Also, has anybody changed their light bulb on an Artesian Gold Class spa? I'm trying to figure out whether I can go in from the back or can do it from the service panel.
I'm new to the spa world and love it, but I would like to add some "color" to my life!
Thanks |

Here is the response I got from the manufacturer. I guess this answers my question. Does anybody have any real world experience with this solution?
We have had success with the ColorGlo(tm) portable spa lights working in spas with dimmer systems. In most cases the light will not turn on in the low or medium mode, but it will turn on in high mode. Usually this means that the user only needs to go through a couple extra steps to enjoy the ColorGlo(tm) in their spa.
This is how I recommend operating the ColorGlo(tm) in a spa with a control panel based dimmer system. Turn the light on by rapidly cycling to the high mode. If the light is not in the desired color mode turn switch off and rapidly cycle the dimmer to the high mode again. There is usually enough of a time cushion built into our light to get the dimmer onto "high" while remaining within the protocol time that the light uses for switching color-modes. In other words, as long as you hit the button really fast, there shouldn't be a problem with getting the light to change colors.
I have been selling the light for 2 years and have literally sold thousands of units to my dealers and I always explain the dimmer issue the same way. I honestly get very little feedback that this solution was not a viable answer to the problem. I assume, given the amount of times I have recommended this solution, that the success rate is far higher than instances of the light still not working. I hope this information will help with your decision. Thank you for choosing ColorGlo(tm)!
