I have a couple questions about wiring a hot tub.

Question 1) Can I run my ground to an existing 120V ground? Will this ground be able to hold the charge of the larger ground, should they be needed?

Question 2) Can I run my two hot wires to one hot wire in a disconnect box? Will I get the necessary amp draw from the one 240V hot?

Before you say it, I am aware that these hypothetical ideas are against NEC code.

1) no. Ground conductor sizing is based on the breaker size.

2) Don't understand your question. A 240 volt circuit requires two independent hot lines. Connect both L1 and L2 conductor to T1 incoming, you'll have zero volts between L1 and L2.

Don't try to do this on the cheap - and don't install without a ground fault circuit breaker.

1) your ground needs to be ran into the main grounding bus in your panel anything less puts you at risk, as well you need to establish some form of equipotential bonding to the surrounding area which entails connecting all metallic components together and then connecting to the ground run or install a second ground rod 6' from the tub.

2) as was answered previously to lines attached to the same phase will give you only single phase power ie... your home service is 120/240 one phase is 120 the other 120 if you run 1 phase to neutral you get 120 if you run 2 conductors to the same phase you still only get 120 you need to run a conductor from phase 1 and phase 2 to get 240, panels are arranged from top to bottom each slot alternating phases 1,2,1,2,1,2 down the left bus and the same down the right.

if you attempt to hook 2 conductors up to same phase and then wire them on the other side to your 2 line feeds you will essientially run a lot of voltage and amperage into your system with no return and hence overload your system. (that will be the burning and smoke that will result)
