Adding a Ozonator on old Bromide generator pump.

I am looking for easier way to add a Ozonator to my 12 year old Phoenix Spa.

The only exposed lines without removing insulation and getting to a jet.. is a unused Bio2 Bromide generation system. We bought the tub used and never used this system although it would probably work.

It uses a small independent pump and 3/4 inch hose and circulates the water as called for. (if in use). My question is.. why can't I put a ozone injector in the pump output side (since its handy) and introduce the ozone to the tub this way. By the way we sanitize with Chlorine and with only two of us doesnt take a whole lot to keep the water up. But I thought a ozone generator would still be a good idea.

Or should I just remove some foam and tie into a air jet that runs with the normal low speed pump on a timer?

thanks

No ideas? Someone must have a opinion about doing this. Please jump in and tell me yours.

I think an ozone generator would still be a good idea for that, you should look for an expert in your area to make those thing to you to make the job well done in a proper way and not just wasting your dime...

Re: Adding a Ozonator on old Bromide generator pump.

I would say YES you could put the ozone in that 3/4 inch line - is it a 24 hour circ pump? If it only kicks on when the spa needs heat, and you can't set it to run at least 8 hours a day, then I wouldn't use ozone. Make sure you realize you can not use ozone by itself. You must also use other chemicals with it, such as AG+ and non-chlorine shock. Pete http://www.makesmeshutter.com

Re: Adding a Ozonator on old Bromide generator pump.

I think I can modify the Bromide pump so it will run all the time. It is just a little 12 volt pump but I think would still deliver the ozone if on all the time.

Right now it runs until it senses no salt in the system and then shuts off.

Yes I know I would still have to use chlorine, just not as much. Well I just need a cheap injector to put in that bromide pump circuit.

thanks for input
