| Chemical buildup on circ pump, Baqua, Softswim, etc |
I have a six year old Sundance Cameo. I was getting Flo switch problems, but the circ pump was running, though pressure was low and the pump was hot. Upon taking it apart, I discovered a lot of buildup of chemical (off white in color) throughout the wet end, esp. the impellor. There were also flakes of the whitish chemical on other parts.
I have two theories:
1) most likely: I tried saving money by switching from Baqua Spa Shock (7.5% hydrogen peroxide) to a cheaper source and was told by a sales clerk to use Bioguard's SoftSwim with 27% hydrogen peroxide at a MUCH cheaper price. I'm guessing that there's a reason they sell SoftSwim for pools and not spas. Or perhaps it interacted with the Baqua sanitizer or shock in the water. Within one week or so I was getting the Flo switch problem indicator going off.
2) Simply the build up of Baqua chemicals over time.
Any ideas on either? And besides taking apart all of my pumps, etc, what can I do to break down the chemical. It does not break down in water, and is very strongly bonded to the pump parts, especially metal parts. It took me hours to clean the wet end of the pump.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
