Green cloudy water

We have an 850 gal. Sundance Cameo with ozonator. We've been using Soft Soak for 5 months. Originally had brown gunk, which we finally got cleared up, but our water is never crystal clear. This week, it turned very green and cloudy and stinks. Had the water tested and did what the printout said, but it's not getting better. We're draining it now, and are thinking of switching to Nature II. How many times do we have to refill and drain again before switching chemicals? Do you think Nature II is superior to Soft Soak? <img src=:" title="Question" /> Also, I've been told an ozonator doesn't even work well with Soft Soak, so I'm wondering why the dealer recommended the Soft Soak in the first place. Any ideas?

Are you using well water or city water?

Did you have your tap water tested?

I would just start out with plain water.... nothing added.
Do your water tests and go from there to add chems as necessary.
My take is the less chems and "stuff" you have to add to the water, the better. See if you can stabilize the water without adding Soft Soak
or any other magic potions. If you can, and there are no more
problems, then you will know something you added to the water
was causing your trouble. Brown scum seems to be a common
complaint with Soft Soak. Some people like Nature2, some don't.
It's hard to say that one product works best for all water conditions.

After you drain the spa, just take your water hose and spray into the jets to flush out the plumbing and then refill. That should clear most of the old water.

Again, start with the basics. Don't buy into every chemical or product the dealer tries to sell you. In time, you will learn what works best for you and your water conditions... it is a learning process and you will make some mistakes along the way.

Good Luck!

Chlorine, bar none, is the best sanitizer. It kills nearly everything that wants to contaminate your spa. I would never use a non chemical sanitizer in a hot tub. For the majority of situations, they just don't cut the mustard.
