| Is the ozonator working? |
How do you tell if a ozonator is working?
I have a cd type ozonator that is about 2 1/2 years old.
The bubbles come out and the purple light in on though rather dim
on the unit.
When it was new the bubbles had a distinct odor to them.
I cant really smell that anymore.
I use clorine in the spa and have been having problems latley
with gray cloudy water.
Thanks........... |

good question!
I was wondering the same thing, and I can't even see my ozonator light, it's on the unit inside the shell. I was looking for a way to use fiber optics to bring the light to control panel, but I can't find the little pieces needed. |

Ozonators vary. UV units need replacment (bulb or entire unit) every 3 years, and CD units need either their chip or entire unit replaced every 5 years.
Aside from that, your cloudy water is comming from the bathers themselves, and normally the tub will be able to cope with that polluting factor without ozone. If your filters are plugged or not being on long enough, and your chemicals are out of balance, that will cause the cloudy water. |
