Newbie looking for advice on how to take care of tub....

Does anyone have a good write up or web page that tells the proper maintainence of the water in the tub? How often you need to check the water?

I have aquired a used tub and I am new to the whole water treatment thing. So, if there is a write up that tells the do's and don't that would be appreciated.

Also, it would be handy to have a list of the chemicals you need to have on hand. I have looked over the chemical section of my local home improvement store and there are so many options it can be confusing.

Where is the best place to buy chemicals? Lowe's? Walmart? Spa dealer or where?

Thanks in advance for any help. I should have the tub up and running in a week or so and I am looking forward to using it.

here's ours http://www.scarritt.com/spasanitizing.htm. You can buy from us or a local spa store. Happy to help if we can.

I saw the info on the soft soak....how is that product? Sounds ideal for spa use.

What would the annual cost of that system be approximately?

I replied to your other post as well. Couple hundred $$ per year.

Thanks, you've cleared up a nagging concept I couldn't get. Namely the shocking. Many people, many chemicals. Just to verify I got this. You can use MPS type shock, or you can use High doses of Chlorine. Right?
