Purple PH indication - HELP!
Just moved into our house which has a spa in the master bath.
Did a PH test (aqua chem kit) and color was purple; which is way beyond color chart on tester. I suspect was is very alkaline.
Can anyone diagnose?
Thanks,
Pete

Test
Hey Pete,
If the colors of the test strip are "off the chart", the test is probably bleached out. Do not assume your PH is high. If an excess of sanitizer is responsible for the false reading, the the PH may very well be low. With water change intervals suggested each 2 to 3 months, you may want to consider re-starting.
