Sanitizing a Cedar Hot Tub
Hello, we are about to install a cedar hot tub. I'm new to this and I'm a BIG germ-o-phobe. The quality of the water is very important. First, we opted for wood simply for aesthetics. On the water flow side, it will be equipped with an ionizer, a 100 sq-ft filter and a 4 HP pump. It will hold around 450-gal of water. Being in an area where water is precious and expensive, I'd like to keep water changes to every 3-4mos. I'm not concerned about using appropriate chemicals for sanitizing. I just don't want to damage the tub. The Ionizer says to also maintain chlorine levels at 0.4 ppm or bromine at 0.8 ppm. So, I know it needs more than just the ionizer for sanitation.
I travel for business frequently and I want to keep this simple for my wife and teenage daughters. We are all quite able to perform the testing, it's just the actual chemical balancing act that concerns me. Is there a simple method for daily treatment...a miracle product that can simply be dropped in?

Re: Sanitizing a Cedar Hot Tub
Decided on the following: test and adjust water if necessary Shock with a MPS solution like SeaKlear Charge with a low dose of Bromine Start ionizer and keep bromine at 0.8 as recommended Continue to shock with MPS
