| Artesian Spa |
Hello all spa hoppers,
I am new to spas. I am currently shopping around for one. I went to a dealer and was shown a Artesian Antigua w/52 jets and 2 6hp pumps. I was told that a customer had purchased this in March 2006 but never took possession because of a divorse. The salesman showed me the invoice(if it was real) for the sale to the customer and it was sold to him for $6000. He said that the customer wanted $5000 for it.
I have a spa and pool mag and it lists about 80 hot tub manufacturers, but not Artesian. I have never heard of them and was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or experience with them. Is this a good deal?
Thank you |

They look fine to me.
Using what appears to be Gecko controls, Laing heaters and Grundfos circ pumps.
At least your circ pump replacements will be cheap and easy to get.
Be sure you get a warranty and they have someone that can service it. |

Hey Thanks Pageup!
I went and grabbed the brochure they gave me. It actually does not state anything about the parts included or specs. I guess they want you to get it off of their website. There is a picture of a pump and it says Ultimax on the top of the sticker. That is the only thing I can read.
Yes, they did say that I would get the original manufacturers warranty. The first customer only put a deposit down and so the tub was never registered for the warranty.
Also, what do you think about the Platinum II spas that Costco sells? I went in there yesterday to look at them. They give you a lot for the money. I like the foot massagers and the stereo, but I know those do not constitute the purchasing of it. The employee there told me that if I don't like it I can return it no questions asked and it doesn't have to be this year either. |

I prefer to stick with brands sold by real live dealers. Even if they go out of business tomorrow at least I'll have a better spa.
You'll have to read between the lines on that one.
And I hate extra gadgets in spas like stereos/tv's/light displays all around - blah. It's just more stuff to go wrong that the industry cannot support 5 years later when it breaks.
When the manufacturers begin to actually put real live techs on the road with parts supplies available for the last 5 years of manufactured stuff, then that would be great, but that just ain't going to happen. |
