| Buying either Costco Discovery Sunburst vs. Infinity Laguna |
Just wondering which of these offers the most bang for the buck. The Laguna is quite a bit less but with less jets and HP. I really could care less about the stereo being offered on the Sunburst and I like the cushioned headrests on the Laguna - therefore it would seem I'm leaning toward the Laguna. Maybe someone can dissuade me?! |

Re: Buying either Costco Discovery Sunburst vs. Infinity Laguna
I am also very close to buying the Laguna. I've been looking at the Costco Infinity Sun Peak tub ($3500) for a while now and then the Laguna popped up ($3800 on sale for $3000). They look like the exact same dimensions and interior design with a few small differences to the components. Is the Laguna the replacement for the Sun Peak, or vis versa? Looks like they traded the second 6hp pump for a 1hp blower. I have no idea if that's a good thing or not. It also looks like the Laguna has additional small jets in the bottom of the seats that the Sun Peak doesn't have. Seems like these would poke into my bony butt, so I would welcome input from anyone with experience in this area that can put this concern to rest.
I am very close to buying this tub (can't beat $3000 for a new tub this size), and would really appreciate some informative words from someone that knows this tub. Thanks in advance! |

Re: Buying either Costco Discovery Sunburst vs. Infinity Laguna
Okay, so I took the leap of faith (backed up by the Costco buyers club warranty) and purchased the Sunburst. I happen to like the idea of all the components that are included in this spa system. Only thing that I can see missing is a nosey neighbor green light laser. A LimeLight Pulse is close to this same unit (light show and same massage heads) which comes in at 12,000.00.
I'll update my opinion later, but currently I'm running an 11 year old starter tub that I purchased when I was hard pressed to produce the 3k it cost me. I'm not tossing 12k into anything that doesn't fly, drive, or cruise. The price is right and I'm taking the jump.
Did either of you guy jump into the Laguna? I've seen threads where parts weren't as advertised...but I cannot be sure those claims were about the Laguna's. |

Re: Buying either Costco Discovery Sunburst vs. Infinity Laguna
I just registered here to join in on this very question. The Costco deal on the Infinity Laguna "seems" like some kind of deal, I just can't tell what kind of deal exactly. I'm a noob, never owned a tub, looking to not spend $10K at the local Boulder, CO spa store. Having it delivered curbside is not a big deal, can move it to the deck. But posts like this (below) give me concern. It is crap?

Hoping the seasoned veterans here can chime in.
Thanks! |

Re: Buying either Costco Discovery Sunburst vs. Infinity Laguna
My new Costco (Infinity ) Sunburst hot tub is installed and running. I'm pretty happy, but I would like more control over the lights and it would be nice to have more information provided by Infinity as to the operation and usage of the tub.
I gave my old tub to the delivery guy and in turn...he helped me with placing this tub. This tub is heavy and will require brains and brawn to move it around. My tub sits on a 3 foot platform that makes the surface match my existing deck, making entry and exit for the tub much nicer.
The lights are cool, the more you play with them...the more you realize the trick is in the "double-tap". The stereo is an issue for me, I plan to move the stereo deck out of the tub and into a more accessible deck box, this way I can plug my Ipod into the aux input and be able to control the sound system better (purely an access issue for my deck configuration).
It's been running for 4 weeks now and I only had one problem where the redirector for the waterfall popped out of it's casing and required me to "freak out", but the fix was easy...I just pulled the whole housing up and that action exposed the threads that I could lock the housing down with....not a big deal.
The cover: The provided cover is not going to be the last cover I'll ever want...but it will hold up until I decided exactly which type of cover I'll use when I go into this winter. This cover is merely temporary and offers no insulation.
This tub is not a 12k Limelight Pulse, but it does have all the buzzers and whistles that the Pulse has...and that is what I wanted. I have a good feeling about this tub, the more I play with it the more I feel good about how I spent my money. I used to use Bromine for a sanitizer, but those days are over. I'm using the Nature2, Oxy-Shock (MPS), and my sanitizer is di-Chlor-s-trizineSump'n which has produced much better water quality and control. The first week we had a huge load on the water...in particular a neighbors wife. I'm pretty certain that my bromine stew would have eaten most of the organics, but I would have used a lot of bromine. The new chemicals had the tub ready for use the very next day, the water balances and clears up much easier with the previously mentioned chems. |

Re: Buying either Costco Discovery Sunburst vs. Infinity Laguna
I just bought the Sunburst from Costco. I love the spa, but I misplaced my manual. Can someone tell me how to turn the spa off? With just 4 buttons, I have not been able to figure it out.
I did get the heat up and the lights and jets on.
Thanks. |
