| Costco's Infinity Sun Peak vs. Cal Spa FII 745L |
Help, We are trying to decide which of these are better. They are very similar, but the Cal Spa has a longer warranty (4 more years) for labor and includes a solar blanket plus delivery to our backyard. The Infinity is $1,000 less and they only deliver to the front yard. Other than that they seem pretty close. I am not sure what insulation to look for or any of the other non cosmetic features that will benefit us in the long run. I want to make sure we buy a good quality long lasting spa. I will pay the extra $1,000 only if there is a significant difference. If anyone knows please help us. We have only until April 20th to decide because the Costco one will no longer be on sale. Thank you! |

Re: Costco's Infinity Sun Peak vs. Cal Spa FII 745L
I'm no expert on either model, but I did put my own spa in the backyard. It was a bear. I had to take down fence, get some more people rounded up. Mine is a bigger 8 foot by 8 foot spa, with an older heavy wooden surround. Really, the hardest thing for me was working the trailer into the backyard. I've seen some spa delivery dollies and they are some amazing contraptions. However, for $1000, I could cook a whole lot of ribs and get plenty of buddies coming over just for that. You just need to imagine the size of the tub and what it might take for you to get it to your backyard and consider what your own abilities are.
Insulation really depends on youir area. Our's isn't the full foam insulation. It's the spray on urathane thats probably a couple of inches thick. It's had some repairs and the insulation wasn't put back. Being in Texas, we've had no issues with it not being insulated enough. Plus, I've heard that full foam insulated saps are harder and more expensive to repair because to find a leak, you just have to flip it over and start digging. Then you end up with half of the insulation torn away in the end. I'm simply going to add some sheet styrofoam insulation the the inside of my new surround. |
