Hot Spring Insulation
Hi Does anyone know if the insulation in a hot tub is structural? Is it safe to dig out a large area with the hottub full? Should I dig out all of the wet foam or will it dry up after I fix the leak? Id like to try to fix this leak this weekend. Thanks in Advance

Re: Hot Spring Insulation
As I have done the chipping of insulation on my Hot Spring, I cannot say I did it with water in it. However I would believe the shell and frame to be strong enough to support the water weight. My pool ans spa store does it that way. They use a hydraulic automotive lift. I'm not sure I'd wand to be under a full tub while digging. Once the leak gets fixed the leftover surrounding wet foam will eventually dry. I would remove all wet foam and replace with new foam and seal with the epoxy hard bottom layer. Good luck.

Re: Hot Spring Insulation
I was just going to dig through the side. I need to have it running to find the leak and I have no way to lift it.
