| How much is this spa worth? |
Hi All, I'm looking at a Jacuzzi Platinum Series Lexus Plus. Seller claims to have purchased 3 yrs ago for $2700. Comes with a new cover and the GFCI hardware.
I've been unable to find much information on this tub on the net with the exception of the following page:
http://www.doverpool.com/dover1.html
I'm new to spas and was hoping to spend under $500 but find a motivated seller with a great deal. This owner wants 1500, but I'm sure I can talk them down.
Any tips on inspecting the spa and how much I should expect to pay in monthly energy costs to run it will be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Eric from Kansas City |

If it's indeed 3 years old, that is a fair price. If you can talk them down even better. That new cover was between 300 and 500 bucks. When I sell spas that are more than 8 years old, go by the rule of thumb of 100 per foot, but have noticed most people use 150 a foot. Even at that it would still be over 500 bucks. I think it's a fair deal.
Energy costs will depend on location of installation, amount of usage, and if it's running at 120V or 240V (they are often switchable). A baseline standard is between 30 and 50 a month. |
