New Tub wanted - Advice please?

Hi,

i will be looking to buy a hot tub in the next few months (maybe end of year as prices should be less), but would like some advice on what type is best. i have a 3.5m squared decking area already in place and also the required power outlets already there (from previous house owner).
should i go for 2 pumps?
after a 7 seater and gazebo.

thanks

Re: New Tub wanted - Advice please?

I can tell you from my recent shopping experience (March and April) that I looked at everything on your list except for gulf coast so I cannot comment on them. I also looked at Hot Springs, Emerald, Vita Spa, Coast Spas, Cal Spa, Caldera, Marquis, Bullfrog and a few others. I would personally speak with the dealers closest to you (each of those on your list) and get a feel for pricing, build quality, seating layout, size and aesthetics. Once you narrow down the size, seating type and style wet test each model. This is the true test for a spa. I can tell you from looking at all of the tubs above that you cannot get a "feel" for how comfortable the spa will be until you sit in it with hot water and jets pulsating (make sure it is the model you are interested in if at all possible). Beware that each of the dealers will put the pressure on after a wet test to "make a deal" right then and there. Resist the temptation. Hot pulsating water can sometimes turn your brain to mush and you may not be thinking all that clearly. Sleep on it and continue on trying each of the top contenders that meet your requirements. Once you start to wet test them you will most likely narrow the field very quickly. Service and warranty are paramount. When making the final decision ask for references and speak to actual customers (more than 1 or 2). A reputable dealer should have a substantial list of happy customers to speak to. All spas will require service. You do not want to make a large investment and be left out in the cold <img src=" title="Crying or Very sad" /> FYI. We decided to go with an Arctic Tundra Ultra. Of all the tubs we tested this met all of our requirements. I personally like the way they insulate the tub and getting to all of the working parts is a snap. But do not buy based on my review and purchase of this particular model. For example we wet tested many spas including the Arctic Summit and for us it was not as comfortable a tub as the Tundra. Your experience may be the opposite. You may not like the design, layout or options that are offered on the Arctic line and may be much happier with a Sundance. The most important thing to remember is to take your time. Do not make a quick decision. Hot deals will be offered on every showroom floor. Resist the temptation and you will end up with a tub that you will use often <img src=" title="Very Happy" /> Good luck and happy hunting, JD
