PVC Leak in a Sundance Atimar

I found a leak in the 3'' PVC elbow behind the outflow of the filter (buried in the foam of course). The elbow has a hair line crack which extends half way around the pipe. Is it possible to mend the crack rather than replace the elbow? If so, what is the best method of mending a crack in a PVC elbow.

A product such as IPS weld on 810 or similar will repair your crack permanently, provided its prepared properly and the cause of the crack is no longer present (or it'll re-crack) ie if stress is put on the pipe from angle entered, or pump vibration, etc
ideally a proper repair with fitting replacement should be made
