Live in Massachusetts and just got a Beachport spa (from about 1994 or so). It came with a Hayward Max-Pak. Just wondering...do I have to keep the pump and heater running all winter and what should this cost me? thanks. The heater has a thermostat, but no timer.

It will be cheaper in the long run to keep the spa going throughout the winter, verses the cost of a frozen tub (resulting in broken plumbing, pumps, heaters, etc). The cost will greatly vary depending on location of the tub (wind), if it is used and how often, what the temperature is set to, and how well insulated the tub is. With mine, it is about 1 1/2 times what it is to run in the summer, but mine is well insulated, and out of the wind.
