are molded to Pleatco's specifications as opposed to other cartridge manufacturers who simply uses PVC pipe with drilled holes. The molded core delivers a better water flow rate giving enhanced filtration and reducing wear and tear on the pump and less energy consumption.

A unique Modular adaptor that replaces the typical molded threaded extensions which
provides mounting of the cartridge to the filter housing for top load models.

Pleatco's unique adaptor design makes installation and replacement of filter cartridges easy for the end user.  Many filters require a threaded extension at the base of the cartridge to screw into the filter housing. These extension threads are generally molded into the end cap of the cartridge. Because the end cap material can become soft the thread can easily strip if the cartridge is pulled then being removed. In addition the endcap can easily crack if the cartridge is pulled rather than properly unscrewed. Pleatco's PAD Adaptor design eliminates both these issues. Pleatco adaptors are manufactured using different material than the endcap - it is harder and will not strip if placed under stress. Once installed the adaptor can be re-used at the time the filter cartridge has to be cleaned or replaced and reinstallation is far quicker and easier  due to the modular design of the adaptor. With a half turn of the filter element it is easy to disengage it from the adaptor without the fear of cracking the endcap. Because the Pleatco PAD Adaptor remains in the filter housing, once the cartridge has been disengaged and removed, there is a far lesser instance where dirt and objects may fall into the exposed opening. The design of the adapter also adds additional entrapment protection.
