It seems most people only ever really think about the filter cartridge for their pool or spa about once a year. Although it's not rocket science there are some basics you should all know to help with the upkeep of your pool or spa. Here we explain in simple terms the anatomy of a Pleatco filter Cartridge.

Pleatco uses only the highest quality spun bonded polyester material as MEDIA for their spa filter cartridges. Pleatco uses 3 types of MEDIA.

The MEDIA serves as the filtration surface.

White: High grade, costs effective spun bonded polyester.

Gold: High grade, costs effective spun bonded polyester with Pleatco Anti microbial Protection.
The MEDIA has a combination copper, silver and iron sanitization that gives exceptional anti- microbial protection.

Blue: High grade, costs effective spun bonded polyester with Pleatco Antimicrobial Protection.
It includes REEMAY MICROBAN technology.

The ENDCAP provides the structural support and filter cartridge integrity.
Unlike any other filter cartridges manufactured for the pool & spa marketplace, Pleatco Filter Cartridges have endcaps that are 100% Antimicrobial. This means Pleatco cartridges are more effective in killing bacteria prohibiting the growth of mold, mildew and odor causing bacteria. You may find difference color Pleatco endcaps (blue & orange) which help differentiate OEM specified products. Unlike most competitors the Pleatco Filter PART NUMBER is bodily molded into the endcap for quick and easy identification.
