I have a totally analog older Pacific Marquis spa and need to replace the pack as my push button switches have died and I can't find replacements. The pump is not even a year old and the blower is fine. Until I tear the spa apart I don't know if the pump or the blower are 110 or 220 volt, the spa is connected to a 4 wire 220 circuit. Is this an issue with this unit or is this not a problem? And if you know is this going to be a plumbing problem? Thanks in advance for any help.
Response
Umm, actually, this is the most configurable pack in the world and it will work with virtually all accessories 115/230V, and accomodate a single or dual speed pump, a secondary single speed pump or a blower just by programming the top side control. The 4 wire 220 you have coming in is perfect for this pack.

As far as plumbing goes, that one is kind of up to you to decide. Just be sure to use Schedule 40 PVC fittings and not DWV style. Flex PVC can make things easier also.

Thanks.

I have a coleman spa. Can I use this spa pack to replace the one I have the heater keeps destroying circuit cards.
Response
Yes you can. As well it's a much better replacement system - no more circuit board burn outs since all of the heavy duty current switching is done well away from the circuit board.

If you have any further questions regarding this replacement, you can call us anytime.

Thanks for the inquiry. You can call us about this at 1-877-936-2223

Hello, I just ordered this control pac from you guys and now am wonderning if I purchased the right item. My spa is a blue ridge with a 20 amp circuit. I have a continous circ pump and another pump for the jets. Will I be ok with this new pack? Thanks Also the circ pump has 1"/ 3/4" lines . Is it ok to increase these then reduce them back again to interface with the heater in/outlets?
Response
You can use this system with a circ pump. You just need to wire the circ pump directly to the wiring terminal inside for 24/7 operation. if you go to Circulation Pump Installation for a spa/Hot Tub with digital spa control you can see a similar installation.

I have an old hot tub- 25+ years old. I just connected a new 3 hp pump that burned out the old controller so I need a new controller, but want to be sure I can hardwire my existing pump and blower into the new unit. My components don't have cords with plugs, just plain wires and are operated with air buttons. Also, this equipment sits outside the hot tub, exposed to the weather. Is this a problem for the Smarttouch unit? Thanks for your help.
Response
The smarttouch unit comes with new cords to attache to your pump and blower so that you can plug them in, however this unit CANNOT be exposed to the elements...The least expensive way to take care of this is to build a doghouse around the new control unit.

Hi, I bought my Smart Touch from you last year. I bought it for 110 volt 220 heater. Now I bought the 220volt motor form you and it needs to be reprogramed to power the motor at 220 volt. The oznator and blower are still 110 volt. The manual I got from you dosent explain how to do it. Can you help me? Thanks Rich
Response
This SHOULD work for you... If you have any confusion with it, please call me directly at 1-888-284-3311 before applying power.

I have a SmarTouch 1000 that is about 2 years old. Last week I noticed that all the lights on the control pad were lit and the spa wasn't running. Can you give me some guidence as to what the problem might be and the cost of the solution. The digital readout is 8888.

Thanks
Response
The most likely cause of this problem is that something has effected the power supply of the board, either a voltage spike (brown-out) or a lightning strike are the usual causes, what happens is a resistor on the PCB gets blown out and because of this the display gets funky and nothing works. The only way to fix this problem is to replace the PCB. Price of this PCB is $279 and you can call us to order it.

We have a 1994 Cal Spa. The heater was continually burning up elements, the service tech was ready to retire based on my bills alone. After some research we figured to replace the controls & heater. However our SS heat tube is 15.5", can I just redo the PVC and plug this unit in? And the spa was air switch controlled, can I change to this digital unit(I hope)?

Thanks
Response
Sure, YOu can change to this unit. You only have one pump, correct? This heater is actually 13 inches so you MAY have to cut off one union and extend the pipe to fit. (We can order this unit with a 15" heater though, it'll take longer).

You will get new heater tailpieces with this unit to make this change easy to cope with. The digital unit comes with the topside , so you will be replacing that as well.

More questions, feel free to give us a call

I have left several messages and email. I hope someone will be kind enough to get back to me soon. I have an error message on my SmartTouch 1000 - SESH. I assume it is a temperature sensor. I bought this less than a year ago. I am disappointed, especially with the customer service to this point. In fact when I bought the unit it was missing a few parts for the light, but I said it was o.k. and I would buy the parts local. Anyway I need your help to get my tub running again.
Response
SESH is an indicator for a sensor short, the connections probably need to be cleaned or the sensors/PCB would need to be replaced.

I have a very old cal spa hot tub. I have replaces the board and pump. Everything is working, but the pump. I believe something is wiered wrong and my repair person is not sure what to do. I have 220 into the hot tub. My main concern is that my blower runs both hot air and regular air. Will this unit enable the blower to work both ways or just one. The Smart Touch Digital 1000 is the pack I am intrested in. Any assistance ould be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any advice, and what is the lead time on an order.
Response
DY, Your blower will have to run heated all the time or non-heated all the time, there are no previsions for 2 circuits to make it a heated/un-heated blower. It is till a great pack!

These Spa Control/Packs are a normal stock item so standard UPS shipping times would apply.

I have a few questions:
1) Can you tell me the dimensions of the spa side controller included with the smart touch 1000? I am considering replacing an early 90's balboa contol on a Dimension One Impulse SL spa, and the hole that is under the current controller is 6.375" by 2.5". Will I need to make modifications to make this fit?
2) My gate valves leak some, is there a way to fix them, or do I need to replace them.
3) Do I need special PVC cement for flexible PVC?
Response
1. The topside would be 7.25 X 3.5
2. If the valve is a 3 piece Magic or Valterra you can get some repair parts, the center section and seals
3. Regular heavy bodied PVC cement will work, but I do have a special glue that is non-flammable, and epoxy-like if you want.
Inquiry posted on 08/01/05
The topside on the smart touch 1000 spa pack is 7.25 x 3.5, is it flat, or does it need a hole?
If I am going to replace my gate valves, would you recommend ball valves?
Response
The hole would have to be 6.25 X 2.25

I like the Valtera valve, PLVV12 because it can be repaired, but it is a personal preference issue, you can use what ever one you like.

My Leisure Bay spa pack is 9 years old. I have 2 pumps (one for each side of the tub) no blower, light, circ pump and a ozonator. I would like a new control and pack. How do I know if the cords from my pumps will work in your pac? They have five prongs. And what about the plumbing do you have to replumb?
Thanks Dave
Response
Depending on your existing heater, you may or may not have to replumb anything...

The cords are never a concern as our equipment packs will always include new cords which you may install; either cut and splice new cords to your existing equipment or connect them directly.

I just wanted to find out on the smart touch Digital 1000, what sizes are the inputs and outputs? 1.5", 1", 2"?? Also, what are the sizes of the input/outputs on the 4.0HP 230V pump you sell with the Digital 1000. I just need to find out to know what plumbing connectors I need.
Response
The plumbing on the pack and pump are 2" plumbing.

My current spa pack model is SMTD-100A-PL-D, which spa control model is the right replacement?
Response
That is Smart Touch 1000 Spa Pack/Control is the one! It controls one 2 speed main pump, a blower OR second pump, light, and ozone/ozonator.

I'm thinking about the SPDACCD-12.
I have a circulation pump, an air blower and a 1 speed jet pump.
The line coming from the filter (which is after the circulation pump and before my current heater) is 4 in. around.
The current system is 240V 60A 2 Pole, no GFCI
The place on the spa with the air switches is only 3 in. wide and the 2 air switches are 3 in. on center.
What do I need to do to mount the control? Do I need to cut a hole?
I don't want to run my circulation pump 24x7. Can I hook it up to the "LO" position?
What do I need to do for GFCI?
Response
1. Yes you cut a hole for the topside control using a jig/sabre saw and a metal or 14 tpi blade.
2. The GFCI you can purchase from us. They come complete with the outside weatherproof enclosure, UL approved.
4. If you only have a 240 volt 2 pole system, (without a neutral), then we'll need to special order one for you (2 day lead time) that will work without a neutral.
5. You can hook your circ pump on the low setting but it will have to be an internal connection.. inside the control box. Advanced programming options are also available for this spa pack as you can see if you download the instruction manual under the product details tab.

Call us if you have any further questions.

I am rertofiting an older (90's) Leisure Bay proshield portable spa that was installed outside in a home I recently pruchased. The original heater and controller was replaced by an OEM small unit that has a 15" heater and no spa side control capability. It currenty runs on 110, although the original set up had been converted to 220/230 at 30 amps to run the heater at 220 and rest at 110 through a separate 20 amp 110 circuit. Only the 220/240 30 amp circuit remains and the tub was running on one of the 110 legs from that circuit protected with a GFCI at the tub disconnect panel near the tub. Normal crcuit breaker at the main.
My question is: can I install this pack at 110 with a new pump (which is shot) using the same 110 leg off the 220 circuit? The pump that was on it was 3/4 HP and Emerson with fittings that appear to be 2" although the feeder pipe looks 1.5; so I imagine the size is actually 1.5. I know I can adjust the pipe as necessary.

I am interested in the upgrade for both the needed pump replacement but also for the spa side controls and digital concept.

Thanks
Response
Yes you can. You'll simply have to program the controller (from the spa topside panel) to run on low amps instead of high amperage. This way you won't exceed the 30 amp circuit maximum.

The primary difference is that the heater turns off when the pump or blower is turned on.

We can help you with the details of your installation just give us a call.
