SPASBSG1400A - Spa Builders AP1400 Spa Control - 2pump,blower
Inquiry posted on 01/11/05 I am looking to replace an old Brett-Aqualine control box, and I want to know if you have a SpaBuilders AP-1400 sytem that will work in its place. I need only the control head, since I already have the pump and blower.
Here are the specs for my current (but faulty) control unit:
Model Number: EM-100
240 volts, 50 amp, 60 Hz, Single phase
Catalog # 26-Z070NVVX-5S
Dimensions 11.5”high, 12.5”wide, 4”deep
My heater is mounted BELOW the unit (not behind). I use one 2-speed pump (circulation and jets). My system is run by 3 air-switches (blower, jets, light). I do NOT have an ozonator. Thank you for your help.
Inquiry posted on 01/19/05 What kind of plug for the spa side does the pack accept? My spa side control is a 4 button w/ a regular J&J plug. Also, does it matter which way the water flows through the heater, ex. left to right or right to left? In other words, must the heater be on the discharge side of the pump of may it be on the suction side? What are the dimensions of it? Is it possible to get more specifics, possibly by fax or email? Thanks
Response The spa side plug is just the standard 6 prong recepticle that most all topsides with air buttons and thermostats use. Its very universal. The water can flow thru the heater in either direction but it must be on the pressure side (discharge) of the pump. If plumbed on the suction side everything will work but the heater because there is a pressure switch that indicates water flow. It wont activate if plumbed on the suction side!
The control "can" itself is 10X12. The heater is a 15 inch heater so it sticks out a little more. Contact us if you have any further questions.
