Product Description
Waterway has re-designed the Executive impellers. New design is compatible with older wetends!
The Physical Size of the Old Impeller does not help with choosing the New One.. Voltage and Amperage are the main things you need to know to choose.. Check the below information carefully and choose the correct Horsepower..
EXTRA Note: 48FR Pumps are downsized by 1HP. Meaning if your pump says 3hp it will actually have a 2HP imepller not a 3HP.
Impeller for the Waterway Executive 48 frame spa and hot tub pumps. If you are unsure of your horsepower you can look into the mouth of the impeller and see a horsepower rating stamped in the in the plastic on 2hp, 3hp or 4hp.
1hp and 5hp are usually not marked..
As a rule of thumb the newer Impellers use colored Dots:
- 1Hp White Dot
- 2Hp Red Dot
- 3Hp Green Dot
- 4Hp Blue Dot
- 5Hp No Color Black
It is recommended that you replace the shaft seal along with this impeller. You can add seal kits with or without bearings as well as face O-Rings when you choose uouir Horsepower.
If you need the complete wetend, they are located under Product Code: WW-EXEC48-WE.
AKA/Replaces: 310-4220, 310-4210, 310-4200, 310-4190, 310-4180
You must go by the Amperage Sticker on the motor not stickers on the Wet End or Motor especially the BHP Stickers.
Look on the label of the motor for the two amperages if you have a 2 speed pump or if its a single speed look for a single amperage. An example will look something like this: 10.0/3.5 The 10.0 is the high amperage in this example.
115V Chart Below
3/4HP 8-9 Amps
1HP 11-12 Amps
1.5HP 16-17 Amps
2HP 19-20 Amps. 2HP would be very rare.
230V Chart Below
8.0 = 1 HP
10.0 = 2 HP
12.0 = 3 HP Executive Pumps can have 3hp or 4hp Impellers Most of the time it is a 4HP.. The only way to know is look at the wear ring to see it it says 1, 2 or 3.. or 4 & 5.. If 1, 2 or 3 choose 3hp.. if 4 & 5 choose 4hp..
14.0 = 4 HP THERE are Very Few 48FR 4HP Pumps DO NOT ORDER This Unless you see 14 Amps..
16.0 = 5 HP THERE are NO 48FR 5HP Pumps DO NOT ORDER This if you have a 48fr pump..
NOTE: Your pump or motor may say a different Horse Power than what you see here, DO NOT go by what is listed on the motor, go by the amperage on the label.
NOTE for the NOTE: TRUST ME ON THIS, everybody lies about their Horse Power. But the amperage does not lie. Most people are told incorrectly that they have 5 HP pumps.
If you do the math two 230V 5 HP pumps at 16 amps is: 32 amps. Plus a 5.5 KW heater is: + 21 amps.
That means with both pumps running and the heater on it will draw = 53 AMPS.
I bet your HOT TUB is on a 50 AMP breaker…... Therefore contrary to what you have been told you DO NOT have a 5 or 6 or 7 Hp pump.
