Shop Magic Mend repair fittings for hot tub, spa, and swimming pool plumbing repairs. These specialized PVC fittings are designed for situations where standard slip or coupler fittings will not work, especially when pipe has broken off flush with concrete or inside tight plumbing spaces.
Magic Mend repair fittings are sized based on the inside diameter of the pipe you are repairing, not the outside diameter like standard slip fittings.
This is extremely important when ordering.
How Magic Mend Fittings Are Sized
These fittings glue inside the existing pipe.
Example for 2 inch plumbing
A 2 inch Magic Mend repair coupler measures approximately 2 inch outside diameter on each end.
It is designed to glue inside a 2 inch pipe that measures approximately 2 inch inside diameter.
Because it installs inside the pipe, sizing is based on the pipe inside diameter.
Real World Example
If a 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe for a swimming pool pump breaks off flush with the concrete, a standard slip fitting will not work without breaking up the concrete.
Instead, you can use a 1-1/2 inch Street also called Spigot Magic Mend fitting.
The smaller slip end measures 1-1/2 inch and glues into the broken pipe.
The larger outer section matches the outside diameter of 1-1/2 inch pipe, which is approximately 1.875 inch.
That larger section will accept a standard 1-1/2 inch coupler, which measures approximately 1.875 inch inside diameter.
Once the 1-1/2 inch coupler is glued onto the Magic Mend fitting, you now have a secure connection point to plumb back to your pump without breaking any concrete.
This saves time, labor, and structural damage.
There are many different Magic Mend configurations available, including straight repair couplers and street or spigot style repair fittings. Be sure to review each configuration carefully to select the correct fitting for your repair situation.
Slip vs Street Also Called Spigot
Slip fittings glue over the outside of pipe.
Street fittings also called spigot have one male end with the same outside diameter as the same nominal pipe size. That end inserts directly into a slip fitting.
Magic Mend fittings are unique because they glue inside the pipe being repaired.
How to Measure Before Ordering
Measure the inside diameter of the broken pipe when selecting a Magic Mend fitting.
