Hot tub water manifolds are the plumbing distribution system that moves water from the spa pump to each individual jet in the hot tub. These manifolds connect multiple jet lines together so water from the pump can be evenly distributed throughout the spa.
Spa manifolds are commonly located inside the equipment area or under the shell where plumbing lines branch off to each jet.
One of the most common causes of manifold failure is freeze damage. When a hot tub is shut off for extended periods during freezing weather, water trapped inside the manifold can freeze and expand, causing the plastic manifold body to crack.
When this happens the spa may develop leaks underneath the tub or inside the equipment compartment.
Older hot tubs often used slip style manifolds where flexible PVC pipe is glued inside the manifold ports.
While this system worked well when new, it can become difficult to repair because older flex pipe may shrink, become brittle, or crack when re-glued.
Modern spa plumbing systems use barbed manifolds where clear vinyl tubing is glued over barbed fittings and secured with clamps.
This system is much easier to install and often provides a more reliable connection compared to older slip style manifolds.
Barbed manifold systems also make it easier to repair individual jet lines without replacing large sections of plumbing.
We offer complete barb-style manifold repair kits designed to replace damaged manifolds quickly.
These kits are based on the number of barbs your original manifold uses and typically include:
Manifold base
Barb fittings
Vinyl tubing connectors
Hose clamps
Extension couplers for tubing
Optional glue kits
Extension fittings are important because when damaged tubing is cut off during repair, the remaining tubing is often too short to reconnect directly.
Our RENU Manifold Kits are an upgrade system designed to convert older slip-style manifolds to the modern barb-style plumbing system.
This system was developed to solve one of the most common spa plumbing problems.
When old flex pipe is re-glued into slip style manifolds it often develops small drip leaks because the pipe has aged or shrunk slightly.
The RENU system converts the plumbing to barbed fittings, allowing vinyl tubing to be clamped securely instead of relying on old glue joints.
This makes installation easier and greatly reduces the chance of leaks after repair.
You may need to replace a hot tub manifold if you notice:
Water leaking under the spa
Multiple jets losing pressure
Water leaking near jet plumbing
Cracks in the plastic manifold body
Freeze damage after winter
Manifold failures are especially common in spas that have experienced freezing temperatures while shut down.
If you are unsure which manifold kit you need, we can help.
Send photos of your existing plumbing and we can identify the correct repair option.
